Workshop Objectives:
Having a positive inner voice is essential in helping children cope with life stressors as well as having a positive worldview, which would consequently improve their self-esteem and social relationships as they develop into adults. Positive self-talk can also help shift children’s attributional style, which refers to the way they view the events that happen to them or are around them.
Since attributional style has been largely established to link to depression, self-esteem, and relationship happiness, cultivating positive self-talk can help improve the way our children talk to and think about themselves, and change their attributional styles, leading to more mentally healthy children.
Workshop Methodology:
My Voice My Choice is a 1-day workshop aimed at shaping confident and strong children through the introduction of positive self-talk. This workshop is designed to teach children ways to identify their negative self-talks and turn them around and also allow them to learn how to recognise their strengths and improve their weaknesses.
