Counselling Psychologist working with children, adolescents and adults
Beverly is a Singaporean Counselling Psychologist with a Masters in Applied Psychology from National Institute of Education-Nanyang Technological University (NIE-NTU) and Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) from National University of Singapore (NUS). She is a registered psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS).
Beverly has experience in the social and mental health services for over 8 years. When working at the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), she conducted assessments and interventions with complex families where abuse was present. Very often there were underlying psychological problems in these families such as, mood disorders, substance-related and addictive disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Beverly carried out intensive family work with caregivers and their children from various cultural backgrounds including expatriates. She eventually specialised in family mediation work with elderly parents and their adult children. However, her most enriching time was working with adolescents when she provided individual/group therapy in the Singapore Boys’ Home (SBH) and Dayspring Residential Treatment Centre.
After receiving a five years long service award from the government, Beverly left to explore the community setting where she worked at a Psychological Services Unit in a Family Service Centre. She worked with families whose children had challenges such as, ADHD, dyslexia, and anger management. She also gained experience in psychological testing. Shortly after she worked as a private psychologist in Zenith Medical Clinic (ZMC) and conducted therapy with adults. The adults she worked with had family and relationship problems, workplace and financial stressors, or even health issues. She also led parenting workshops in ZMC. Currently, Beverly also provides psychological services to the Sports and Cardiology Centre.
Aside from being a psychologist, Beverly is also a private trainer and teacher. She previously conducted trainings such as, problem-solving and conflict resolution for adolescents under the care of MSF. And teaches children how to cope with stressors in their academic studies.
