Dr. Ung has been in the practice of psychiatry for about 27 years since 1988. His areas of specialty include child and adolescent psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy. Prior to this he was the Clinical Director, Department of Psychological Medicine, NUH; Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Faculty of Medicine, NUS; and Adjunct Associate Professor with the Psychological Studies Academic Group, NIE, NTU; Visiting Consultant with the Department of Psychological Medicine, NUH and Department of Psychological Medicine, SGH.
He is the co-author of the 4 books (Stress and Distress, Preparing your child from Primary One, The Early Years and Parenting Young Children) and has contributed chapters in Textbook of Occupational Medicine Practice and Slim Chance, Fat Hope. He has published articles in local, regional and international journals in the areas of Mental health policy, eating disorders, suicide and stress. He has lectured and conducted workshops on stress management, communication and other topics for various organizations including National University Hospital, Glaxo Smith Kline, Dupont, EDB, AIA, NTUC, Abacus, Singapore Police Force and Hewlett-Packard.
