I Ting has more than 16 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in a variety of settings, including the public service, private sector and re-structured hospitals, providing psychotherapy to local and international youths, adults and families. She is familiar with a wide range of presentations including mental health issues (e.g., mood and anxiety issues), personality disorders, trauma & PTSD, suicide/self-harm behaviours, relationship difficulties, and parenting challenges. She has extensive experience in the forensic mental health setting, providing court-mandated assessments and interventions offending behaviours such as theft, violence, sexual offending behaviours. She is currently a custody evaluator on behalf of the Family Justice Courts. She is a registered psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society.

I Ting adopts a client-centred and integrated approach to therapy, and is trained in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is trained in Psychological First Aid, and has served as a Caring Actions in Response to Emergencies (CARE) officer under the National CARE Management System and Human Emergency Assistance and Response Teams (HEART) team lead in the SGSecure initiative.

Besides clinical work, I Ting is skilled in providing clinical supervision and currently supervises clinical psychologists and counsellors in training. She is a registered clinical supervisor with the Singapore Register of Psychologists. She is an Adjunct Lecturer in Psychology at the Singapore University of Social Sciences and an Adult Educator at the Social Service Institute. As a scientist-practitioner, she keeps herself updated on the latest psychological research and actively utilises research findings to inform and innovate her practice.

I Ting prioritises a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental environment for her clients to explore the presenting issues and collaboratively works with her clients to gain new perspectives and skills. Her aim is to facilitate changes for clients to effectively overcome the immediate challenges in their lives, and more importantly, deep and lasting changes that can propel them to live more meaningful lives. 

Born in Taiwan and having spent most of her growing up years in Singapore, I Ting is fluent in both English and Mandarin. As a mother of two boisterous school-going children, she attempts to sneak in quality time using 3-minute phone calls with them during the day. Besides her love of psychology, she enjoys fixing furniture and anything that breaks down around the home.
