Ms Chua Kah Lin is a clinical psychologist who received her professional training in the UK. She currently sees clients in private practice on a part time basis. She also works part time on the academic team in an Australian university teaching clinical psychology to postgraduate students.

Her previous clinical experience includes working in hospitals in the UK and subsequently in private practice in Singapore. She has treated both adults and children suffering with a range of emotional and psychological disorders.

Besides an interest in helping adults and adolescents who are depressed, anxious or with emotional issues that disrupt their daily functioning and relationships, Ms Chua is also keen on working with parents who are experiencing difficulties coping with and managing their children’s behaviours. She works alongside parents to help them become more effective, confident and self determining.

She uses therapeutic approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which focus on identifying and changing patterns of thinking and behaviour and which are more present-oriented. She also uses Schema Therapy for clients whose issues are rooted in a more complex or traumatic past and which involves working through schemas with the aim of experiencing more fulfilling relationships and meeting life goals. All the while the main focus will be on cultivating a strong therapeutic relationship that enables the client to explore difficult issues in a safe and secure manner.

Ms Chua is a Full member of the Singapore Psychological Society and is registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists.
