St Andrew’s Nursing Home (Taman Jurong)

A newly established 290-bed facility at Taman Jurong, we seek to provide long term support, care and rehabilitation to the under-served and disadvantaged of the community at large, regardless of race or religion.

Lead the team to provide safe, high quality, efficient and cost effective care is deliver to the nursing home’s residents

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee the team of registered and enrolled nurses, nursing aides, healthcare assistants and healthcare attendants. This may include oversight of multi-disciplinary care providers such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, medical social workers and others

2. Responsible for compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by Ministry of health and Singapore Nursing Board

3. Lead quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care. Ensures quality audits are planned and conducted periodically. Follow up with areas for corrective improvements

4. Promote evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery

5. Ensure written policies and procedures and work process are available and up to date to guide the nursing care delivery

6. Ensure the smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to the community, where possible

7. Ensure appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services

8. Direct and facilitate staff development, skills and competency upgrading through various opportunities. These may include formal education, in-house training or approved online learning programmes

9. Guide orientation/induction programmes and preceptorship for all new staff

Skills and Experiences

Technical Competencies:

1. Advanced Diploma/Degree in Nursing
2. Registered with SNB and BCLS certified

Core Competencies:

1. Strong management and interpersonal skill

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

At least 4 years of clinical or management experience as Nurse Manager in a hospital setting
