Singapore Anglican Community Services is the community service arm of the Diocese of Singapore. It is a major psychiatric rehabilitation service provider in Singapore. SACS’s goal is to minister to those who are under-served and disadvantaged – to help them restore dignity, health and well-being, so that they have the opportunity to live life to its fullest potential.

Job Summary:
Provide support and care for clients (persons with mental health issues) in their journey towards recovery, community re-integration and an improved quality of life. Promote early recognition of signs and symptoms and facilitate early treatment for people-at-risk through enquiry service and public education.

Responsibilities:
* Caring and providing support for clients in the community through home visits
* Interviewing and making assessments on individuals who seek admission to the centre
* Providing rehabilitative counselling, emotional support, psycho-education to clients
* Initiating referrals, follow-up and organise case conferences
* Organise, coordinate and set up public education and community outreach
* Network and engage partnership with community agencies
* Maintain case files and ensure all records, contacts with clients, care plans and outcome of clients are properly maintained
* Submit statistics regularly

Skills and Experiences

Technical Competencies:

Ability to build rapport quickly with distressed people
Excellent communication skills to interview clients and collaborate with other healthcare and community services

Core Competencies:

Passion to work with persons with mental health issues
Compassion and empathy to deal with people who are in stressful situations
Good listening skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Good networking skills

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related field
2-3 years relevant experience
