Training Programmes Our training programmes are structured to equip youths with skills to support and empower others within the community. Our programmes are backed by rigorous research and have also been validated by practitioners in the mental health care industry. 2. Letter writing platform The platform serves as a safe space for youths to confide about their problems anonymously to a trained befriender. We seek to provide emotional support to youths who may be facing difficulties in life and encourage meaningful conversations.
The National Council of Social Service (NCSS) has launched a chatbot to encourage mental health sufferers to seek help. It was launched for the first time as part of its “Beyond the Label” campaign. McCann Worldgroup Singapore, which was the creative agency behind the campaign, helped to develop the Facebook Messenger chatbot named “Belle” together with AI technology partner AiChat. It connects youth, adults and seniors to mental health resources and helplines, as well as educate the public with tips on how to interact and support persons with mental health conditions.

Grace Phoon is a Clinical Member with the Singapore Association for Counselling. Besides having a Master’s degree in Counselling, she has been serving as an Executive Member with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing) Singapore from 2018-2020. She is certified in EMDR, a clinically proven psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. She is also an accredited facilitator for Prepare/Enrich Marriage Program and Taylor-Johnson’s Temperament Analysis (T-JTA ®), which is a widely used personality assessment for individual, pre-marital, marital, and family counselling. Grace has experience counselling in the church and in schools and have conducted mental health and self-care workshops and facilitated divorce support groups. Some of her experiences include conducting counselling courses for the church’s lay leaders to equip them to become better people helpers. Prior to counselling work, she had over a decade of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry and this has helped her in empathizing with the stress and anxiety that corporate world entails.
