Anita is a mental health practitioner with over 13 years of experience in counselling, therapy, and educationAnita obtained her BA Psychology degree from Womens Christian College, Chennai, India, followed by a Medical and Psychiatric Social Work degree from The Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India, and, an MSc in Social and Organizational Psychology, from The London School of Economics and Political Science, UK.

Anita commenced her career as a school counsellor in India. Subsequently, Anita went on to work as a Lecturer at Singapore Institute of Management, including, heading their Psychology Programme. For the past 5 years Anita has been in private practice, providing counselling, therapy, training and coaching, to children, adolescents, families and individuals in Singapore across a broad spectrum of issues. Anita also works with couples using the Solution Building for Couples Approach.

Anita is a certified Solution Focused Brief Therapist, and Solution Focused Coach. She is also trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, The Strengths Approach, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Anita is committed to a collaborative and non-judgemental approach in working with her clients. She facilitates a therapeutic relationship based on deep respect for her clients, that focuses on their strengths and resources and fosters their personal growth. Having lived in 5 countries, and straddling Asian and Western cultures and values herself, she appreciates the challenges posed by cultural plurality, and takes cognizance of that in her work.

Anita is a member of The British Psychological Society, The Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association, Australian Counselling Association and The Australasian Association of Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

Anita provides counselling to children, adolescents, families, individuals and couples.

Anita is fluent in English and Hindi.
