Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL) is a professional non-profit organisation in Singapore dedicated to meeting the needs of caregivers of persons with mental health issues through education, support networks, crisis support, tailored services and self-care enablement. While there are other organisations providing support to the community affected by mental health issues, only CAL focuses exclusively on supporting caregivers with professional services.

Our full name is “Community Health Assessment Team”, and we’ve been helping and supporting young people with mental health concerns since 2009. CHAT is a national outreach and mental health check programme under the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). You can think of us as Singapore’s “AAA” battery for youth mental health. Essentially, we are a group of healthcare professionals dedicated to promote: Awareness of mental health; Access to mental health resources; and to Assess, by providing a confidential and personalised mental health check for young persons between 16 and 30 years old.

The Community Intervention Team (COMIT) is embedded in the community to provide holistic services for clients with mental health needs and their caregivers so that they can live and age well at home and in the community. It is an allied health-led team which provides psychosocial therapeutic intervention for clients with mental health needs and supports their caregivers in coping with caregiving for the loved ones. Community Resource Engagement and Support Team (CREST) is a community-based programme which aims to serve as a community safety net to reach out to older persons at risk of / with mental illness (i.e. depression / dementia), to address the gaps in the services in the community for the older person and to ensure continuum of care for the older person by supporting them in both basic social and health issues. We seek to promote early recognition of the signs and symptoms of depression and dementia, to encourage early diagnosis and intervention.
