Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981 amid a climate of changes in the early 1980s — intensifying economic competition in the region and the widening rift between the wealthy and the lower-income, particularly the Chinese blue-collar workers. ​ Seeing them live on a low income with few opportunities for a formal education, our founders held onto a strong belief of empowering them to realise their potential, and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Over the years, Care Corner has evolved into a leading social service agency. With 43 service points across Singapore, we serve children with special learning needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds, youth-at-risk, troubled families, vulnerable seniors and individuals with counselling and mental health needs. Our SG Cares Volunteer Centres (VC) at Tampines, Toa Payoh & Woodlands seek to promote volunteerism by connecting volunteers with key community partners and building volunteer management capabilities. We aim to provide holistic care with high standards of nursing and medical care for our residents. Service Residential Care The Home currently has a capacity of 192-bed space for stay-in residential care. It is equipped with modern facilities. Activities and programmes helps to nurture the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the residents. Rehabilitative Service Rehabilitative services are carried out for residents, reinforced by maintenance therapy to prevent deterioration of mental health. Qualified medical and nursing staff, including the services of a Psycho Geriatrician, are on-hand to manage residents with dementia and psychiatric illness. Recreational & Social Services Recreational and social activities are planned by staff and dedicated volunteers to enable residents to engage in different meaningful holistic activities, ensuring that they stay in touch with their social and physical environment. Our programmes help fathers in all life stages to be effective dads. Each year, the organisation conducts over 150 programmes such as Adventure Camp with Dad, Breakfast with Dad, ICAN workshops and other parenting workshops. Coaching for Fathers Nobody said fathering was easy, and many of today’s fathers did not have much of a role model. It is likely they had fathers who were distant; providing, but not involved. If you want to be a better father than you are now, or to prepare yourself for your fathering journey, where do you begin? Coaching for Fathers is a service that empowers fathers to engage fully, effectively, and responsibly in their children’s lives.
