AWARE is the leading women’s rights and gender equality group in Singapore. AWARE believes in the rights of women and men to make informed and responsible choices about their lives and to have equal opportunities in education, marriage and employment, and in the right of women to control their own bodies, particularly with regard to sexual and reproductive rights. AWARE is dedicated to removing gender-based barriers. These barriers apply to both women and men, but because of the way human society has evolved, it is women who are more likely to come up against these barriers. These barriers, whether structural, attitudinal, or self-imposed, prevent individuals in Singapore from developing their potential to the fullest and realising their personal visions and hopes. AWARE works to identify and eliminate these barriers through research and advocacy, education and training and support services. Since its formation in 1985, AWARE has carried out research into numerous issues affecting women, including workplace sexual harassment, poverty of older women and Singapore’s compliance with UN anti-gender discrimination standards.

Attilio Rapisarda is a Clinical Psychologist, working in the psychiatric hospital setting, clinical research and education. Trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Systemic Relational Therapy, Neuropsychological and Psychological Assessment, Research Design and fMRI protocol design and analysis. He currently serve his patients as a Sr Psychotherapist at the Institute of Mental Health. His academic background includes a Bachelor and Master (“Laurea quinquennale”) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Palermo, a Master in Research Methods from the University of Reading, a PhD (“Dottorato”) in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Milan Bicocca, and a PsyD (“Scuola di Specializzazione in Psicoterapia”) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pavia.

Aventis Centre for Wellness & Organizational Psychology is an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Provider which reaches out to various corporate agencies to provide affordable and efficient counselling sessions as well as Mental well-being Trainings. Upholding the 8 dimensions of wellness, Aventis Wellness, in short, seeks to provide a holistic approach to every one of her clients. With over 20 Therapists that have been through credible counselling training and a majority of over 10+ years of corporate exposure each, Aventis Wellness is highly recommended for workplace mental well-being solution-building. Aventis Wellness’ platform allows individuals globally to schedule seamless counselling sessions that can be done anywhere or at Concorde Hotel Singapore Aventis Wellness’ Counselling Centre.

About Us Banyan Home @ Pelangi Village is a welfare home for destitute. The Home is accountable to and funded by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF). We provide food, shelter, medical coverage and other services, for up to 220 male residents with diverse ethnicity, religions and background, most of whom have been diagnosed with psychiatric illness, and who do not have any next-of-kin or family members who can take care of them.   Our Programmes We have various programs/ activities such as lion dance, zumba dancing, computer sessions, bingo, gym tonic, basketball arcade, art and craft, pottery classes, outings, etc.

Founded in 2004, One Hope Centre (OHC) is a non-profit social service organisation and a registered Institute of Public Character (IPC) in Singapore. We specialise in helping people affected by behavioural addictions, such as problem gambling and compulsive spending. OHC offers counselling for individuals and families, support groups and group therapy. All our help services are provided free of charge. We also conduct workshops and public seminars on addictions and related issues.  

The National Council of Social Service (NCSS) has launched a chatbot to encourage mental health sufferers to seek help. It was launched for the first time as part of its “Beyond the Label” campaign. McCann Worldgroup Singapore, which was the creative agency behind the campaign, helped to develop the Facebook Messenger chatbot named “Belle” together with AI technology partner AiChat. It connects youth, adults and seniors to mental health resources and helplines, as well as educate the public with tips on how to interact and support persons with mental health conditions.

Bethesda CARE is a social service agency set up in 1996 to serve the community. We reach out to children, students, youths, adults, seniors and people with special needs. We place a premium on and provide ample opportunities for those with special needs to interact with people of diverse background and social standings. This leads to a broaden social circle and community acceptance forging of friendships through sharing of concerns, hopes and aspirations. We bring about mind enrichment by engaging the individuals in structured programmes that promote physical and mental health. We empower them by creating opportunities for them to learn or re-learn life skills. We have a team of caring staff dedicated to teaching, guiding, counselling, motivating, and fostering greater personal independence.
