Carol Goh Professional counsellor, therapist, and coach in Singapore With over 18 years of counselling and therapy experience under my belt, I have provided professional counselling services for youths, adolescents, adults, expats, couples and families. I specialise in uncovering the root cause of presenting issues, facilitating growth from the ‘inside out’, that is, facilitating inner change leading to outer change by focusing on the ‘root cause’. I have worked with diverse segments of clients ranging from those suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, self-harm, eating disorder, to anger issues. I have also worked with many married couples facing marital and relationship issues. Having successfully helped many of my clients to recovery and regain mental wellness, the key lies in identifying some common core debilitating sources that are fueling such behavioural issues. As a psychotherapist I believe problems must be worked through therapeutic healing of the inner self or else they remain forever a barrier to living an effective and successful life. Through non-judgemental approach I want to know your story and life challenges and eventually work towards helping you to feel empowered.

EmpathyWorks Psychological Wellness is committed to promoting psychological wellness of individuals. Established in April 2014, we believe that each person has an inherent unique value, and is worthy of being regarded with compassion, authenticity, respect and empathy. In addition to counselling services for individuals, we also conduct mental health-related workshops and talks for schools, companies, social organizations and other groups. Through these services, we seek to empower each individual emotionally, as well as increase awareness about mental and emotional health.

Eng Kai Jun holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the National University of Singapore. She received her Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary Specialisation), and her Master in Applied Psychology from the National Technological University, Singapore. Kai Jun’s career started with MOE as a primary school teacher, where she spent 3 years teaching children a variety of subjects, conducted group works and coordinated enrichment programs. She was also an officer with the Singapore Girls’ Brigade, where she helped to organise activities and run programs for young girls. Upon leaving MOE, She spent a brief period of time with a human resource consultancy firm as a business developer. Here, she undertook administrative related responsibilities in areas of event management and marketing, and also learnt valuable lessons in using psychometric tools for the purpose of personnel selection and development in organisations. In areas of psychological work, her internship experiences involve working with youths with mental illnesses at the Singapore Association of Mental Health (Youth Reach) and conducting individual counselling for students from primary school to tertiary. Eros Coaching is a relationship and sexuality counseling practice for 11 years in Singapore. Surrounded by friends who were sexually inhibited and struck by dire lack of positive conversations around sex and sexuality in Singapore, Dr. Martha Tara Lee decided to take it upon herself to be an advocate for positive sexuality in 2007. She set out to make a positive difference in embarking on her doctorate in human sexuality, then launching Eros Coaching in 2009. Today, she also has a masters in counseling and remains dedicated to working with individuals and couples to lead self-actualised and pleasure-filled lives. Eske tailors her therapeutic approach to meet each client’s individual needs, applying evidence based approaches, mainly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Prior to joining Thrive Family, Eske worked in a residential rehab facility and can draw on her rich experiences in supporting clients with substance and process addictions. Eske provides all her clients a calm, safe and non-judgemental space. Exploring their personal concerns in a collaborative manner, she embraces diversity and respects her clients’ varied values and belief systems. By clarifying their issues, exploring options, setting goals, and developing strategies and healthy coping mechanisms to overcome obstacles, she empowers her clients to improve their self-awareness and mental well-being.

This three-hour enrichment programme is conducted in a small group setting, where persons with dementia are grouped according to their stage of dementia, spoken language, age and educational profile. Each group size varies and is facilitated by 3 to 4 staff. The session provides a continuum of community care for persons with dementia who have completed sessional therapy outpatient programmes and are discharged for community care. FOW’s cognitive and physically stimulating activities are designed with a social element to foster greater interaction and promote neurogenesis for persons with dementia. FOW complements a full-day dementia daycare programme with shorter hours.
